Meet the Tabor Design Build Team

John was born in Scotland and has lived in Maryland since he was five.  He has been in the remodeling industry since 1979, working his way up from laborer to lead carpenter, to owner of his own company.  He is personally involved in all aspects of Tabor Design Build, from design and estimating to production and management.  In 2005, Remodeling Magazine recognized John as one of the top fifty remodelers in the country.

John is a long term member of NARI and serves on the ethics committee of NARI's Metro DC chapter, which investigates client complaints and makes sure NARI's high standards are maintained by all its members.

John studied construction management, architectural design and structural engineering in college.  He believes strongly in continuing education and provides for all employees to further their knowledge and skill.  In March of 2009, John finished a Green Remodeling course with the Green Building Council and was certified as a Green Advantage professional.  He has completed NARI's extensive Certified Remodeler Program.

Tammy has been a consultant for Tabor Design Build since 2000.   In 1986, she graduated from University of Maryland with a BS in finance.  Tammy has years of experience in real estate, investments and banking.  She became a CPA in 1997 and gained experience in property management and auditing prior to her move to Tabor Design Build.   She handles all financial aspects of the company.

Janet has been with Tabor Design Build since 2006.  Janet has extensive experience in office administration, working for companies such as Xerox and Tektronix.  Her scheduling and organizational expertise keeps everything running smoothly for us and our clients.

Peggy has worked in the building industry for over 20 years.  She owned and operated a ceramic tile and natural stone showroom and has a wide knowledge of the intricacies of natural stone and other material.  Peggy's experience allows her to assist you in selecting the perfect items for your home, whether your budget is modest or in the millions!

Peggy has contributed to several articles about design and has appeared on numerous home makeover TV shows.

Joe has twenty-three years of experience in all aspects of building, from construction finance to cabinetmaking.  He's also designed and built many high end custom sport fishing yachts.

Joe graduated from the University of Baltimore with a BS in Business Administration and Finance.  After working as a financial advisor for Morgan Stanley for seven years, Joe realized that nothing compares to the satisfaction of building and decided to return to the industry as a design consultant.  With his extensive design, finance and construction experience, Joe can help you turn your dreams into a buildable design - and ultimately your dream home!

Joe has been with us since 2002.  He became a NARI Certified Lead Carpenter in 2004 and a NARI Certified Remodeler in 2007.  Joe's first priority is making sure projects run smoothly and on schedule.  He's worked in construction for over thirty years and is a specialist in windows and doors.

Steve has been with Tabor Design Build since 2001.  He became a NARI Certified Remodeling Carpenter in 2002 and a NARI Certified Lead Carpenter in 2005.  He has extensive experience with all aspects of remodeling.  He moved to the United States from Italy in 1999 and became a U.S. citizen in 2009.

Don has been with us since 2004.  He became a NARI Certified Lead Carpenter in 2007.  Don runs projects for us and has well over twenty years of carpentry experience.

Michael joined Tabor Design Build in 2006.  He attended Thomas Edison Trade School for carpentry and is currently taking construction management classes at Montgomery College.
